How to make a serum cocktail

Serum cocktail

A frequent inquiry is how we power results in our facial care results, they can finally shift your focus to beautiful skin goals like brightening, anti-aging, and anti-acne. Serums are some of the most effective treatment products to give these results. Individual serums are often quite powerful, and serums can even be combined, called a "cocktail," to multiply the results.

In this article, we'll discuss how to combine serums to help you design significantly more effective skincare routines.

WHY COCKTAIL?

At Dermoeffects, we like to think of skincare as a layered process. The products support and complement each other, and we encourage patients to carefully consider and choose each product in their regimen to add the overall effects they desire. Results are multiplied or scaled based on selected product combinations.

Through each step of a skincare regimen, the products, active ingredients, and benefits overlap with each other. Consider these two different uses for a calming cleanser like Chamomile Facial Cleanser: Patients can follow it up with Vita Protect Skin or Stem Cell Serum for an ultra-soothing regimen after a procedure; Or, if you have acne-sensitive skin, follow with the Green Tea Antioxidant Serum and Oil-Free Moisturizer that will moisturize while soothing and treating acne. Products are blended and layered depending on purpose, and cocktails can even be used to mitigate the sensitizing or drying effects of strong actives in other products.

Combining serums, in particular, can help create a versatile and effective regimen that promotes both overall skin health and individual goals like brightness, firmness, and clarity. Dermoeffects serums have strong and versatile active ingredients, and we specially design our products to multitask and impart various benefits.

HOW TO DECIDE WHICH SERUM TO USE FOR COCKTAILS

Dermoeffects offers five medical grade serums. Of these, two are lipid-based: Vita Protect Skin and Advanced Retinol Firming Serum ; and three are lipid-free: Multi Action Green Tea Serum , Stem Cell Serum , and HA Boost Serum .

Our top recommendation for cocktails is to combine lipid-based wheys with non-lipid-based wheys. This helps hydrate and protect the skin barrier while improving brightness, firmness and smoothness and treating acne and visible signs of aging.

Our lipid-based serums contain powerful antioxidants and skin rejuvenators, such as Lipochroman® and vitamins E and F, to strengthen and fortify the skin. These repair and protect the skin barrier, restoring hydration and protecting against harmful environmental pollutants.

Our lipid-free serums contain collagen-promoting, firming, and lightening ingredients like Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid to support plumper, brighter, and more youthful-looking skin. These, on the other hand, are better for improving firmness and treating inflammation, redness, lines, wrinkles, and other visible signs of aging.

Combination serums are a simple and effective way to multiply the results in a complete skincare regimen. Products can be combined before application or simply applied one after the other. All of our products are chemically compatible and all combinations can be used safely without side effects.
